Felicity Joanna Sund-Dick

Felicity Joanna Sund-Dick
Born  December 24th, 2011 at 9:17 PM in Melbourne Australia
Weight: 8lbs 2oz Length: 18.9 inches
There's no WiFi in the hospital, so we had to wait until we got home to put up pictures of Felicity.  She is healthy and seems to be generally happy to be part of the world.  The midwife described her as "compact" because she is a good weight for a baby but has a short frame.  Her eyes are a beautiful grayish blue and her hair is pretty light, at least for now.  The picture below was taken before her first bath, so she is still dirty from the birth.
She really enjoyed her first bath, but didn't care for the drying off part so much.

The birth itself went pretty well and there were no complications.  It was an unmedicated birth and the only way I can think to describe it is for you to imagine that scene from Harry Potter where Dumbledore has to drink the magically poisoned water one scoop at a time to get the locket out while begging for the pain to stop, except it lasted 12 hours.  Jeff did a great job of supporting me and getting me through each contraction.

Her ride home from the hospital was ridiculously comfy because of the fuzzy pads my mom bought for her car seat.  She does not seem to have inherited my motion sickness, but she did get the giant Hennies head gene.  Her head circumference is in the 99th percentile.  Ouch.  But that means more room to store her awesome thoughts as she gets older.
